What Got Me Started
My reason for becoming a financial professional is deeply personal. In the 70s, I saw my parents struggle to support a family of six. Dad earned a Mechanical Engineering degree on the GI Bill and worked for a Detroit manufacturer. Mom’s education finished with high school and was a homemaker. There was no financial literacy, never any discussions about money, and little discretionary income. Two kids scraped through college, two couldn’t.
I’m confident that with my understanding of personal finance, coupled with formal training and licensing in the industry, I can help people prepare for a better future. After over 25 years as a Registered Representative, I have developed a reputation for educating individuals and families in an easy-to-understand manner so they can grasp the fundamentals of investing and use that knowledge to pursue their financial objectives.
My Investment ‘ethos’:
Advice:
Based on your goals, objectives, time horizon, risk appetite and cash flow needs:
- What should you be doing?
- Can you stomach volatility?
- Do you have an estate plan in place?
- Can the kids get through college?
- If you own a business, is there a succession plan?
- If you’re in a public C-Suite, are you managing single stock risk?
Access:
I often characterize my role as a ‘manager of managers’. While I enjoy picking stocks, I often defer to professionals that are 100% focused on the exercise.
- We incorporate Allocation strategies that utilize deep fundamental research
- We have access to best-in-class money managers across all asset classes
- We bring in experts to tackle complicated asset classes like annuities & insurance
- We typically incorporate both active and passive management styles
- We utilize Alternatives to dampen portfolio volatility with uncorrelated returns
Service:
The financial services industry is highly regulated, full of jargon, and often difficult to navigate. We promise to:
- Answer the phone...or get back to you as quickly as humanly possible
- Help you understand what your portfolio is comprised of and why
- Help you and your Tax Preparer make smart, tax-aware decisions
- Provide dynamic investment ideas versus a ‘set it and forget it’ methodology
- Be 100% transparent- especially when it comes to fees & performance
Our team approach adds perspective to all we do and provides increased benefits to our clients.

Who We Serve
We commonly work with San Diego business owners and medical professionals whose financial lives involve multiple moving parts.
This includes physicians, practice owners, and professionals balancing personal wealth planning alongside business income, tax considerations, and long-term goals.
Whether you own a business, operate a medical practice, or receive complex compensation, thoughtful coordination makes a meaningful difference over time.
Families: I have had the honor and privilege of working with some of the same families for over 25 years. Goals change, needs change. Good things happen, not-so-good things happen. I structure portfolios that are designed to be flexible as your needs change. College education is likely the best investment you’ll ever make and I’ll help you get there.
Medical Professionals: Maybe you've incurred a substantial amount of debt getting to where you are now. we can develop a plan to help you manage your cash flow, manage debt, allowing you to focus on building your practice.
Business Owners: You’ve spent your working life building something that has value- whether that value is realized through an outright sale or passed on to the next generation, there are ‘tax smart’ steps you can take now to prepare, even if the ‘event’ is several years away. While we are not Lawyers or M&A Bankers, we’ve worked with many and we’d be happy to help with the process.
C-Suite Executives: When clients have a significant portion of their wealth tied up in a single stock, there are strategies we can deploy to mitigate that exposure including: diversification through staged selling or an exchange fund, utilizing charitable strategies through a Charitable Remainder Trust or Donor Advised Fund, and/or hedging with instruments like covered calls or protective puts.
Endowments & Foundations: Long-term investment horizons have the luxury of measuring success by looking beyond just SP500 market performance. I have access to a world-class Alternative Investment Platform that includes hedge funds, real estate funds, private credit, private equity, secondary private equity, etc. With Cetera’s size and strength, we can often deploy these strategies at a significantly reduced investment minimum.
CFO's & Non-profits: Cash management in a low-rate environment is sometimes ‘not worth the hassle’. When ultra-low risk vehicles like CDs, Money Market Funds and Treasuries are paying elevated rates, it can certainly be worth the exercise. We’d be happy to run your cash management operation and we can do so at a very low fee structure.
